A 2-days First Aid Course at workplace was conducted by the trainers from St. John Ambulance Malaysia Wilayah Persekutuan on the 20th and 21st of August 2017 at A Zon Connect People Development Sdn Bhd for the employees in A Zon.

The first day of the course, 20th of August was led by Mr Sam Ghee and the second day of the course, 21st of August was led by Madam Indraini along with Mr Sam Ghee. The objective of this first aid course was to equip the A Zon employees with the latest information of first aid and skills to ensure that the employees in A Zon are able to provide the right method of administering medical assistance when accident happens in the workplace. A Zon hope to promote better safety for the children with properly-trained employees and the right first aid equipment.

First Aid is the initial assistance given to a victim of injury or illness. Basic First Aid knowledge is comprised of relatively simple techniques and procedures that can be performed with limited equipment and is typically carried out until professional medical assistance arrives. First aid skill is important as it will greatly increase the chances of survival. Many workplace require all or a minimum amount of employees to be trained in First Aid. As unpleasant as it is to talk about, accidents and emergency situations are not completely preventable or unavoidable at our workplace. While everyone can benefit from first aid training, it may be more necessary for certain people to be trained in first aid such as people who educate and watch over children. Ideally, they should be equipped with the ability to perform first aid to ensure that they are able to assist children immediately in case of accidents and emergencies in the workplace.

Overall, the 2-days First Aid Course at workplace was successful and had greatly improved the skills of administering medical assistance and increased the knowledge on first aid of the employees in A Zon. First aid skill is beneficial to all as it is not only applicable in the workplace, but also in public locations.
